Bereavement is the time of mourning following a loss. The hospice care team works with surviving family members to help them through the grieving process. A counselor and other professionals provide support to survivors through visits, phone calls, and/or letter contracts, to other medical or professional care if necessary.
Bereavement services are often provided for at least a year to 13 months after the patient’s death. As your family-centered care, our hospice focuses as much on the grieving family as we do the patient. Plus, we make our grief services available to the community at large.
